Why I call myself “Barbie’s Disciple”?
Barbie’s philosophy is the belief that imagination, beauty and self invention are truths. I resonate with this sentiment heavily as I as an individual has always sworn by the rule: “my make-believe stories are more truthful than the physical world.” Imagination is not escapism; it’s an act of authorship. I am the author of my life. I can’t bear living in other people’s world, so I created my own.
And I’m in love with the idea of being glamourous and “unrealistically” pretty like a barbie as well.
Let’s be truthful, shall we? Who doesn’t want to be insanely gorgeous? Is it vane? Partly yes, but it is more than that. It’s the hunger to see ourselves reflected in the world the way we wish to be understood. Call it shallowness if you must – I call it devotion.
I’m here to spread wisdom and healthy delusion.
